Sports Car Open Season 2017-2018

Real life racing driver and prolific iRacer Nicki Thiim has the motto “Go Hard Or Go Home”.  In late 2017 Legends Racing are taking this to heart, and will be competing in the highly competitive Sports Car Open 2017-2018 Season.

The schedule for the season has been released,starting with the 4 Hours of the Nürburgring on 8th October 2017, and concluding with the 4 Hours of Sao Paulo on the 28th January 2018.  The other tracks on the calendar are Monza, Spa-Francorchamps, and the Circuit of the Americas.

The HPD ARX-01C makes up the Prototype class,  the Grand Touring class  will be running the Ford GT and Ferrari 488 GTE, and the Grand Touring Challenge class will run the Audi R8 LMS, the Mercedes AMG GT3, and the newly introduced Ferrari 488 GT3.

Legends Racing’s entry is comprised of Paul Richards, Gary Hickman, Adam Parle, Darren Seal and Adam Kell.  The teams vehicle of choice is the 2017 Ford GT GTE.

The series was oversubscribed, but being one of the early entrants Legends Racing’s place on the grid is confirmed.  Now the teams will focus on the initial round at the Nürburgring … and assessing where the closest competition will be coming from.

All the classes contain a host of familiar teams and drivers, and the standard promises to be very high throughout all the classes.  With the GT field comprising 24 teams (4 Ford GT, 20 Ferrari), every race promises to be a battle royale, and one the team are relishing.
